Description
This is a 2 map set which shows where many of the homeowners resided in Corona, Queens County, New York in 1873. These fine maps were recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment. They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.The pictures provided show only a portion of each actual map.
Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of Corona, Elmhurst, Middle Village, Maspeth, Ridgewood, Jackson Heights, Williamsburg and so many other towns & villages. The first 2 pictures show the town of Corona. The next 2 pictures show the township of what was once called Newtown and is now a portion of Queens County. Due to large areas covered by the maps, many of the names of the homeowners are quite small. The more heavily populated areas don't show the homeowners names yet does show the layout of the area back in 1873. Truly a great matching set.
Some of the surnames which are printed are Benning, England, Hunt, Weedon, Goodspeed, Way, Strong, Jackson, Johnson, Link, Mills, Lott and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
